Weekend

Ahh, it's strange how three days can feel like an entire week, even when you're having fun. :) Here was my weekend (as you probably gathered from the title of this post).

Friday afternoon we headed to Louisville for our annual Thunder trip. This time I got to take my own car! We started the evening off at one of our favorite restaurants, The Spaghetti Factory with our good friend Amy. It was her first time there so we were excited. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The delicious food made up for part of it. I don't think it will keep us from going back, but it was ridiculous even for us and we're servers. Anyway. Then we ventured to our hotel to rest up for the big day Saturday.

Normally we're up and at 'em the morning of Thunder, but it was rainy and cold so we went to Cracker Barrel to decide what the plan was. The sun started peeking out a little so we decided to give it a try; we did come all the way up after all. After setting up and sitting in the cold for about 5 hours, we gave up and accepted the fact that the sun was not coming out. We headed back to the hotel and took a nap.

That evening, we headed off to Wick's, a great pizza place on Bardstown Rd. where we watched the fireworks we normally see live, on television. They were still pretty (and I was warm watching them). After dinner, we went to 4th Street Live to join the masses.

Sunday we started our day with lunch at Joe's Crab Shack (my first time there). I had fish, crab stuffed shrimp, crabcake, and hushpuppies. Delicious! Unfortunately I had to sit next to my boyfriend who decided to have crawfish. For those of you who have never seen someone eat crawfish...they still have their eyeballs on. That's all I'm gonna say. The day started nicely, hit a little road bump in the middle and ended at Graeter's and the Imax. We saw The Lincoln Lawyer. It was pretty good; nice to see Matthew M. not playing the pretty boy for once.

Earlier in the day while driving on the interstate, we hit a nail and got a flat. Luckily, the tow truck got there in time to get us to a Pep Boys right before they closed and thankfully they were able to patch the tire. Silver linings. :)

To top off our weekend, we celebrated our good friend Troy's birthday tonight with dinner at their house. Even with a few minor glitches, the weekend was really nice and I'm already ready for another mini (or long) vacation!

  2. That sounds so fun! I've never been to the spaghetti factory either but have wanted to go for awhile. I love Bardstown Rd too :)
